This Roundtable discussion is specifically designed for CFRE and advanced professionals.  Success in development work depends largely on the team you have.  Whether you've hired one person or many, you have taken on one of the hardest parts of management.  This session will cover recruiting, hiring, on-boarding and motivating the members of your team.  We will also cover how to identify poor performers and what to do when you have one.  Bring your questions and share your own successes or challenges with the group.

Angie Schmucker, Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations, Oakland University 

After obtaining a degree in Marketing, Angie Schmucker entered the corporate world determined to find challenging roles and meet those challenges head-on.  With nearly 15 years of experience in systems consulting, change management, marketing research, sales and strategic planning, Angie had plenty of challenges, but still found herself unfulfilled.  In 2002, she left corporate America to enter the non-profit world.  Oakland University took a chance on the career changer and Angie has been there ever since.  Over the last 15 years, she has served as the Director of Development for Meadow Brook Theatre and the School of Education and Human Services, Planned Giving Director, Executive Director of Planned and Annual Giving, Interim Campaign Director and is now the Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations at this university of over 19,000 students and 110,000 alumni.
