Program description

Philanthropy begins at home with those closest to the organization – the board, staff and volunteers. After all, how can we ask the community to invest in the organization when those closest to it haven’t been given the opportunity? At the same time, over half of all board chairs and executive directors identify philanthropy as one of the most important areas for board improvement! What to do?

Designed to motivate and inspire, this dynamic webinar will provide principles of fundraising that can be immediately personalized and applied by board members, staff and volunteers. It will include:

1)      Values, Vision and Voice exercise – a reflection of why your board members value their affiliation with your mission and how they can align these values with your strategic fundraising plan

2)      a system to implement successful annual campaigns that can be launched and enhanced year after year

3)      the necessary tools to develop comprehensive annual board, staff and volunteer giving campaigns.

These initiatives will create a culture of philanthropy in your organization – a culture that paves the way to long-term fundraising sustainability.

Presenters:

Stacey Anderson is an energetic and gregarious leader who revels in helping nonprofits of all shapes and sizes corner their missions and love their donors. Prior to joining ASP, Stacey served as the Marketing and Development Director for Child And Parent Services (CAPS), a premier child services agency in Elkhart, Indiana. In this role she was responsible running several high-grossing fundraising events, launching a large-scale capital campaign and increasing awareness of the agency’s mission through social media and related marketing strategies. Stacey began her career in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she served in marketing and development for the Grand Rapids Ballet and raised funds for local grassroots organizations. In 2014, Stacey was named a member of the Michiana Forty Under 40. She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and received training from the Fundraising School at the Indiana University School of Philanthropy.

Heather Gallant is a successful nonprofit leader with expertise in founder-leader transitions, strategic problem-solving during times of uncertainty and organizational change processes.

Before joining Aly Sterling Philanthropy, Heather held the positions of interim executive director of a grassroots nonprofit, assistant director of external relations at the Bowling Green State University Alumni Association and assistant director of communications and outreach at Open Circle at Wellesley College (MA). She also served as an AmeriCorps VISTA, where she built a comprehensive sustainable community service program at BGSU from scratch, connecting more than 100 nonprofit organizations’ community service opportunities with about 530 altruistic students. Heather graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Bowling Green State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. She is currently involved with the American Model United Nations International based in Chicago and serves on the board of the Buddhist Temple of Toledo.
